Muzeum Twierdzy Toruń

Muzeum Twierdzy Toruń to jeden z siedmiu oddziałów Muzeum Okręgowego w Toruniu, mieszczący się w dawnych Koszarach Bramy Chełmińskiej przy ul. Wały Generała Sikorskiego 23/25. Decyzję o utworzeniu tej instytucji podjęto w 2016 roku, a prace adaptacyjne rozpoczęto w maju 2018 roku. W tym czasie rozstrzygnięto także konkurs na koncepcję plastyczną przyszłej wystawy.

Zakończenie prac budowlanych miało miejsce w grudniu 2019 roku, a montaż ekspozycji w odnowionych koszarach zakończono w połowie 2020 roku. Choć oficjalne otwarcie muzeum zaplanowano na listopad 2020 roku, termin został przesunięty z powodu pandemii COVID-19. Muzeum Twierdzy Toruń otwarto ostatecznie 11 czerwca 2021 roku, oferując zwiedzającym nowoczesną przestrzeń, która przybliża historię umocnień miasta i ich rolę w dziejach Torunia.
