Śląski Ogród Botaniczny w Mikołowie - Ogród Żółty

Śląski Ogród Botaniczny w Mikołowie jest jednym z obszarów prowadzonych przez Związek Stowarzyszeń, który jest także odpowiedzialny za ogrody botaniczne w Radzionkowie. Główną misją tego miejsca jest ochrona różnorodności biologicznej poprzez hodowlę i zachowanie rzadkich, zagrożonych i chronionych gatunków roślin, a także propagowanie edukacji ekologicznej.

Ogród Żółty zajmuje obszar 21 hektarów na wzniesieniu Sośniej Górze o wysokości 329 m n.p.m. Dawniej pełnił funkcję wojskową, jednak obecnie jest miejscem dla działań naukowych, edukacyjnych i kulturalnych. Na terenie ogrodu znajduje się wieża widokowa, plac zabaw, ścieżki spacerowe oraz punkty gastronomiczne. Ścieżka edukacyjna prowadzi przez tereny lasów, zakrzewień, łąk i pól i oferuje 22 tablice edukacyjne i 5 gier terenowych, co pozwala na bliższe poznanie bogatej bioróżnorodności tego miejsca.
